Why Summer Always Passes Too Quickly

Every year, around this time, I notice the same feeling.

We're halfway through the summer holidays.

The weeks we looked forward to all year seem to have passed in the blink of an eye.

Maybe it's because summer isn't remembered by the big moments.

It's remembered by the little ones.

The windows that stay open until late.

The birds waking you before your alarm.

The quiet streets while the world seems to be on holiday.

Coffee that somehow tastes better outside.

A dinner that slowly turns into a long evening.

An unexpected walk.

One more glass shared with friends.

A book that finally gets finished.

Bare feet in the garden.

Fresh laundry drying in the warm breeze.

The scent of freshly cut grass at sunset.

Ice cubes gently clinking in a glass.

The golden evening light on the houses.

A table that isn't cleared until it's almost dark.

Children staying up just a little longer.

The feeling that, somehow...

life isn't asking us to hurry.

Perhaps that's why summer always feels so short.

Not because there weren't enough days.

But because the moments that matter most are the ones we never planned.

So before this season quietly slips away...

Leave the windows open.

Stay outside a little longer.

Take the evening walk.

Watch one more sunset.

Listen to the birds.

Notice the silence in the streets.

And remember...

At the end, it really is all about the moments. 🌿
