SPACIOUS: Where Sound Meets Silence

There are events you attend. And then there are experiences that attend to you.

SPACIOUS was the latter.

Walking into the Wintercircus on a grey evening, I didn't quite know what to expect. This building alone already carries something, built in 1885 as an indoor circus, scarred by fire, reborn as a car workshop, and now, after years of renovation, alive again as one of Ghent's most extraordinary spaces. High ceilings, raw history, and a strange kind of silence that feels earned. It was the perfect container for what was about to unfold.

The concept is disarmingly simple: spatial audio meets breathwork. A 360° surround soundtrack crafted by Dimitri Andreas, and live breathwork facilitation by Korneel De Smet. Two collaborators, one shared conviction, that sound and breath, woven together, can take you somewhere words can't.

And they do.

Dimitri's music doesn't play at you. It moves through you. His signature, infectious rhythms, hypnotic melodies, intricate sonic textures: here becomes something even more intimate. When audio wraps around you from every direction, it stops being background and becomes environment. You're not listening to a composition. You're inside one.

Korneel holds the space with a quiet authority that only comes from someone who has done this work on themselves, deeply and honestly. A serial entrepreneur who burnt out twice, he found his way back through exactly these tools: breath, sound, stillness. He doesn't perform wellness. He lives it, and you feel that.

Together they created something I can only describe as a modern ritual. Collective, yet profoundly personal. Eyes closed, breath moving, sound all around, at some point the room of strangers around me ceased to be strangers. We were just humans, breathing together in a beautiful old building, being held by music that felt like it was composed for exactly this moment.

I left lighter. Not in a vague, abstract way. Actually, physically lighter, as if something I'd been carrying without noticing had quietly been set down on the floor of the Wintercircus and simply didn't follow me out.

SPACIOUS returns.
